adam brook

About Adam Brook, M.D., Ph.D.

Adam Brook graduated from Harvard College magna cum laude with High Honors in biology. He received the M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School and the Ph.D. degree in genetics from Harvard University. He has also taught and conducted cancer research at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Brook trained in general surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Mount Sinai School of Medicine-Cabrini of New York University, where he was chief surgical resident. He has been an attending general surgeon at St. Luke’s Hospital in the Mission District of San Francisco and is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. In addition to being a practicing surgeon, Dr. Brook treated patients who had difficulty losing weight or maintaining a normal weight. Dr. Brook trained in cardiothoracic surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine and the Yale-New Haven Hospital and is currently a Senior Fellow in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He lectures frequently on weight loss problems.
